The City Limits - Timelapse

Simply utterly beautiful

but at the same time: scary to see how human cities can stretch out so far

(notes on) biology

A very nice and funny animation. I wonder how many hours of work was needed for this.

Eli Pariser: Beware online "filter bubbles"

A very good point indeed... and a surprising tale about the small world the internet can become. A small world of info you might not want. Not only does it narrow down our sources, but it also halts our change of character, ideas and strain of thought.
Its like a teenager getting a tattoo of some comic or idol, and 20 year later: still stuck with it.

SixthSense

Pattie Maes and Pranav Mistry demo SixthSense.

This amazing technology will probably be the future for our cellphones. I am very curious how this project will evolve. It will change the way we would learn... if we would learn at all. After all, every little piece of information will be given to us on a simple request anywhere any time. And, would this mean that the 'cellphone' would be transmitting/receiving every single second of the day? Couldn't be that great for your health.

But still, a great project with a big future.

RSA Animate - The Empathic Civilisation

Very good ideas in here, strong arguments but most of all: a spark of hope that this world could possibly be as one, not divided but in unison. I for one, hope that this spark of hope extends and builds up a great fire across the world. Creating a fact from something as fragile as hope.

The thought of you
